audrina moore
audrina remembers the accident that severely injured her brother and took the life of their father, but she remembers it in bits and pieces. she can remember visiting her brother at the hospital, playing cartoons on the television hung in the corner of the room and drawing pictures to tack by his bedside. she can remember her mother crying in the kitchen and her sister making sandwiches after the funeral. all of her memories begin here, the moore family previous to the accident is something that she can't recall. for the youngest of the three children, there isn't a before and after. dad is someone in home videos, a person she faintly remembers smelling like sandalwood.

she grew up cautious. screaming matches between her brother and mother were frequent and although audrina could rarely understand the reason behind them she eventually grew to favor her brother inside the home and out. she was a quiet, protective shadow, never getting in the way but interrupting possibly bad situations before they began. this introspective, overseeing personality served her well at home but fell flat in social settings. school was difficult for her despite her mothers insistence in recreational activities. she found a love with lacrosse, but few friends came along with it. it wasn't until high school that she fully found her stride. academically she was decent, but she excelled in sports, namely lacrosse and soccer. by her senior year she was considered a top athlete and had scouts from interested colleges coming to see her play.

her plan to play lacrosse in college took her to the university of denver on an athletic scholarship, deciding to stay close to home, and she eventually graduated from ud with a bachelor of science in public health. her goal had been to continue the accelerated program and turn her bachelors into a masters with a fifth year but it was postponed. claiming she just needed a "break", audrina knew in reality it was a combination of exhaustion and disinterest. with lacrosse gone as her main focus and passion, she wasn't sure what she really wanted to do.

the next three years of her life were aimless. she didn't find her degree useful and switched through several desk jobs while living with her brother for two years, an option more appealing than returning home to mom. after three years of thought she decided to get an emt-b certification, and after a semester of the program she started work as a patient care technician at st. lukes medical center. nine months of experience later she enrolled in denver health paramedic division, at the old age of twenty-six. she currently lives with a roommate and works at st. lukes as an er tech, though she's set to begin working as a paramedic for a local fire department in janurary of next year. she knows she took the long way around to finding something that she really wants to do, but late is much better than never.
